That's a nasty one. If you do a google on this error, you find a lot of bladibla, and just a little bit of relevant information. So far, I have narrowed the problem down to a wrong/defective msvcp60.dll file most probably caused by installation of s/w or a virus. Did this error happen from the start or did it start recently? Are you by any chance using Roxio or some other CD burning s/w?

Try to find which s/w you installed before the problem raised its ugly head, and remove it from your pc. Make sure you have ALL Windows updates installed, including SP2 and following patches. Try again. If no succes, find msvcp60.dll on your pc (you might have to unhide system files and hidden files), make a backup of it, and replace it by msvcp60.dll which you can find here: http://www.dll-files.com/dllindex/dll-files.shtml?msvcp60.

HTH. Good luck.

B.t.w. Liquid Fusion, I noticed that you posted this problem in at least three forums. I'm only replying in this thread.

Saw mystical Nariman's wisdom after I made this post. That Adobe Forum post was made just in case people here were busy or away. This afternoon, I uninstalled AA 2.0 / reinstalled the software. Had to leave at that point. Returning, now I see your messages. Downloaded msvcp60.zip. Thank you. Currently sweeping for viruses with CA Pest Patrol / Adaware / NODD32 antivirus. Will check if reinstall did the trick. If not, I can try changing the msvcp60.dll file. Will let you know what works!!!!!!! Removed software. Added msvcp60.dll files to windows/system 32. NOD32 scan came back negative.

This is what I get on the taskbar after I try to write a CD in AA 2.0:
Microsoft Virtual C++ runtime Library
Droverlord - Frame Window
Droverlord - Frame Window
Droverlord - Frame Window

searching for "DroverLord"
http://adobeforums.com/cgi-bin/webx/.3bc14f50
http://www.droverlord.com/
Is "DroverLord" software added by someone at Adobe? I do not have After Effects. I do have Adobe Premiere 6.5.

Deleted AA 2.0 / Thouroughly Cleaned Registry / Installed fresh AA 2.0 - Same as above!!!!

To Continue working where you left off, please restart Audition.

Program: D:\Program Files\Adobe Audition\Audition.exe
Runtime Error!
R6025
-pure virtual function call

Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library
DroverLord - Frame Window

Brewer, if you go to your other post (Runtime Error), I've given you a few suggestions which MAY help.

Thanks Aim / nothing worked. Why Droverlord? Can't Adobe get its act together and make decent software w/o inserting secret societies into its audio software?

Brewer, I'm sorry you haven't got sorted YET but usually, it's simplicity itself. I have an underlying suspicion you may be having a malfunctioning computer but before you say too much, I suggest you look into reasons why this may be occuring. It COULD be personal. I believe EVERYTHING happens for reasons and NO, I'm not trying to get spooky on you. Take a few steps back and this issue WILL get realigned, for sure.

BTW, is butter still cheap in Argentina rolleyes

Hey Aim - thanks for the well wishes. You mention I'm gearing up for recording - (true) and how this computer fiasco could be personal. I'm not that paranoid. Got slammed into as I stepped off the curb in midtown Manhattan NYC by a crazy bicycle going the wrong way on a one way street. paranoid? Nah. I'm not looking over my shoulder - yet. Both sides of the street when I cross? Definately. Yes.

Possibly some software I installed had the dreaded DroverLord. It's gone. For now. Could be the position of the moon. Alignment of energy of the planets. Who needs to dwell there unless I'm trying to see the future. In reality everything happens for reasons we are aware of, and of those we can't comprehend, we must try to deal with life the best we can. How we bounce back from disaster is the key to stayin alive. To get it all to work. When Stan Oliver said something was not great, I suspected the worst. I don't have After Affects. I do have a license and use Adobe Premiere 6.5. Possible Adobe Reader 8.1 and its Photoshop extra?

Solution? Reinstall XPPRo again on a clean harddrive partition!!!! Then install SP2 / AA 2.0 / Activate AA 2.0. All now works fine regarding AA 2.0 burning CDs.
