Having trouble with NO PLAYBACK in multitrack mode.
It was working fine and then?
The spacebar or any of the three 'play' buttons on
the 'transport' do not work.....but the
'fast forward-reverse'..and other buttons work.
The transport works in edit mode....if I open
a new (different) session it works fine?Huh?
what did I do to this session??
HELP

You may need to check your soundcard settings in Audio Hardware Setup page for Multitrack view.

Difficult to tell without knowing your full setup details, but this sounds like something I've observed.  I have AA2 installed on my laptop.  At home it is usually connected to a firewire interface, while when I lug it into work I usually don't take the interface with me.  Therefore, I often need to switch between hardware devices.  When I have forgotten to make a switch, (i.e. AA2 was previously set to the firewire device, which is no longer present) I have found that playback doesn't work (IIRC, the play button is disabled).

FWIW, I think it would be a really great feature for AA on laptops if Adobe took the window layouts concept and also applied that to allow selectable hardware layouts.  Then I could set up my dual head monitors + firewire audio layout for home use, and single head + onboard sound layout for mobile use and easily switch between them in one hit.  Hart, are you still lurking here?  smiley

Seconded.

Working with laptops a lot, I'm always having to switch hardware setups, especially since all the recent laptops seem to have ditched reasonable internal sound abilities.

When I switch back and forth between the firewire, onboard, usb and other interfaces, I always seem to have to poke at the audio setup more than once before all the warning messages about having 'no record interface enabled' disappear.

Seconded.

Actually, I'll duplicate my request and your reply in the wishlist section, because I've drifted OT here and this might get lost.
